Adam Kowalczyk ("we", "us", or "our") operates CarScope (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information is processed when you use CarScope, why it is processed, and what choices you have.
CarScope can be used as a guest through an anonymous Supabase account. If you choose to upgrade that account, we process your email address and optional display name. Authentication credentials are handled by Supabase; we do not have access to your password in readable form. A pseudonymous Supabase user ID is used to associate your private CarScope data and, when enabled, your RevenueCat entitlement.
Information you choose to enter may include vehicle make, model, production year, fuel type, mileage, engine displacement, engine power, optional engine code, maintenance history, service plans, fuel entries, costs, notes and diagnostic case descriptions.
If you choose to use these features, CarScope stores vehicle photos, receipt or invoice photos and imported OBD CSV files. They are stored privately to provide the requested functionality.
RevenueCat processes purchase history, subscription status and entitlement information needed to provide CarScope Pro. CarScope uses the Supabase user UUID as the RevenueCat App User ID. We do not receive or store complete payment card details.
CarScope uses Google Gemini only after you provide explicit in-app consent. The protected server function may send Gemini a limited technical context consisting of:
CarScope does not send Gemini your name, email address, VIN, photos, receipts or complete CSV files. AI output is preliminary guidance and not a confirmed mechanical diagnosis. You can withdraw future AI-processing consent from the App profile. Reports already created remain in your private CarScope history until you delete the relevant data or your CarScope profile.
CarScope does not request location permission and does not collect precise or approximate device location. When you choose "Find a mechanic nearby", CarScope opens Google Maps as an external application with a general category search. Google Maps may use location under Google's own permissions and privacy terms; CarScope does not receive that location.
CarScope may read the device region locally to suggest a default currency. The region is not sent to CarScope servers for this purpose, and you can change the currency manually.

These providers process data under their own terms and privacy policies and only for the functionality described above.
Data is transmitted using encrypted connections. CarScope data is stored using Supabase infrastructure and is protected by access controls tied to the authenticated user. We retain data while your CarScope profile is active or as needed to provide the service and meet legal obligations.
Closing your CarScope profile removes CarScope-specific data and membership. Because authentication identity is shared across the developer's applications, closing CarScope does not delete the shared sign-in identity, shared profile name, or data belonging to other applications. Purchase records may also be retained by Apple, Google or RevenueCat where required for transaction records, restoration, fraud prevention or legal compliance.
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing of personal data and to request data portability. You can:

CarScope is intended for adults and is listed for users aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We may update this Privacy Policy when the App or legal requirements change. The current version and effective date are published at this address.
